Textile Design "Silk"
Gouache with stencil attached to paper, 1955, signed by the
artist in pencil and dated. In a different hand is written in
pencil "Silk - size of repeat 4" x 8". Beneath
the design is shown examples of the 4 colours employed in the
design, dark mauve, black, light mauve, light blue.
Note: The artist was famous for her fashion and textile designs
an example of which is this piece obviously made for a silk
dress.
Size of design: 255 x 255cm. Size of sheet 370 x 528 mm
Condition: The design itself is in excellent condition. The
mount sheet has several handling creases.
