Sir Peter Blake RA (Born 1932, Dartford)
C is for Clowning
Original Silkscreen , circa 1980, signed by the artist in pencil
Note: Peter Blake's Alphabet series consists of twenty-six screen
prints illustrating each letter of the alphabet, from the obvious
'Z' for Zebra, to the more ironic and humorous, 'T' for The
Beatles, to the iconic, 'K' for King (Elvis Presley), to the
esoteric, 'P' for Pachyderm.
These prints characterise Blake's method of working, incorporating
found images from postcards, magazines and popular ephemera.
C is for Clowning is very typical of Blake's work of this period.
