Bernard Leach (1887 - 1979)
Bird Dish
Original colour lithograph, on Curwen mould made paper, 1973-4, signed and numbered by the artist in pencil. It is a lithograph which combines hand-drawn and photo processed imagery on a zinc plate.
Note: This shows a bird painted on a plate. This image is part of a series of lithographs based on classical pottery which Leach was encouraged to make by his wife and Barbara Hepworth. They were produced late in his life and form the virtual sum of his lithographic output together with the Penrith Portfolio print "Drawing for a Pot"
