Kurt Jackson MA (OXON) DLitt (Hon) RWA was born in Blandford Dorset on 1961. He is one of Britain's most compelling contemporary painters. Kurt Jackson’s work embraces an extensive range of materials and techniques including oils, etching and sculpture.
He graduated from St. Peter's College, Oxford with a degree in Zoology in 1983. On graduating Jackson travelled extensively before settling in Cornwall where he now lives and works.
He is a modern plain-air painter in the true tradition of British Landscape artists. As a progressive artist Jackson is always experimenting with his style and technique. Kurt Jackson is a man of conscience who has rejected the academic and embraced the intuitive.
Kurt Jackson is Artist in Residence at Glastonbury Festival and he works extensively with Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, Survival International, WaterAid, Oxfam and Cornwall Wildlife Trust. He is an Honorary Fellow at St. Peters College, Oxford University and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Exeter University in 2007.
